About Me:
I first joined a gym at nineteen because like many girls I knew, I wanted to be thin. Sigh. Little did I know at the time, exercise is not about being thin. I was paired with a personal trainer who pushed me and educated me and gave me the confidence to go to the gym on my own. Throughout the years, I would always have a trainer to work with periodically in order to maintain proper form and progress my training.
While working as a bartender for over a decade, I decided to go back to school and became interested in Psychology. During this time I learned how our physical bodies are not only impacted by our brains, but what we do with our bodies also impacts our thinking and our feelings. It was then that I decided to be a personal trainer and earned my CPT through NASM.
Over the years I developed different interests in physical skills and art forms which drew me to try various classes and practices. I enjoyed indoor climbing and bouldering off and on for several years, played for a season of women’s flag football on the Blondes vs Brunettes, practicing yoga at home and in a class for many years, and I especially love different forms of dance. I started taking Salsa lessons while living in Colorado and continued for several years after moving to San Francisco. I learned modern dance for a couple semesters while at City College, silks aerial dance and hand-balancing, the latter I still practice today, and a few years ago I was introduced to StrongFirst, which I practice daily.
As a personal trainer, StrongFirst philosophy and teaching style is at the core of my own training as well as what I provide for my clients; strength within your body. While years ago the idea of being thin may have started me on the path toward physical health, today I train and practice in order to be strong and feel good in my daily life.
Take the First Step:
Get strong, stay strong, feel strong. Whatever goals you have, a strong foundation will be the difference between continuing and quitting.
“As a former D1 athlete I have trained with teams. I play competitive volleyball weekly and have always relied on endurance. Since working with Jalebi not only has my form improved in weightlifting but also my overall body awareness. In addition, my hitting and serving has become more explosive and powerful.”

“Jalebi has given me the tools and the confidence to take ownership of my mobility and strength; and has helped me cultivate a trust in my body that I’d not experienced before. She meets me where I am and I leave every session feeling more capable, clear-headed, and confident in my body’s ability to show up. Her unflagging attention to process and form keep me disciplined, focused, and safe.”

“I had never worked with a personal trainer before, but Jalebi helped me get in shape. She makes workouts more approachable with an expert knowledge of proper form and function. I always feel better and stronger after our sessions and I would highly recommend working with her!”

“I have been training with Jalebi for about 6 months and truly appreciate her enthusiasm for fitness and care for her clients. She spends the time customizing each workout to my individual goals and mobility. She has a great attention to form, which ultimately helps me engage more muscles during our workouts and maximize the movement. In the time we have been training, I have seen improvement in my range of motion and feel much stronger. Thank you Jalebi for your fitness guidance and care! “
